A lot of people who visit my blog( I say a lot, but it's only really a handful :) ) have told me that I should write something on a subject other than my favourite sport, so here's a change of pace. I've decided to do a review on Jab We Met(Surprised! Don't be the blog is called Random Musings you know.). I would not call myself a keen movie critic , neither do I have a critic's eye, nor do I watch many movies(especially not Bollywood). I'm doing this just for fun and advise you not to form an opinion on Jab we Met based on my silly ramblings. So here it goes, you will love Jab we Met, if you are a middle aged woman(since you are reading my blog, I suppose that is unlikely), if not, it'll come off as a so-so timepass. This is one of Shahid kapoor's better performances(anything will be better than 36 China Town), though nothing too special. Kareena Kapoor tries hard to fit her role, but you just can't see her as a whole hearted Punjabi extrovert. The movie moves back and forth between a slapstick comedy and an overdone melodrama, with plenty of not so subtle jokes on our favourite three letter word(you can guess it, can't you?). The movie begins with a chance meeting between Shahid and Kareena in a train. Shahid is depressed because he has just lost his girlfriend but Kareena is jubilant because she is all set to elope with her boyfriend. Kareena's energy and zest for life manages to change Shahid's outlook(he goes from being suicidal to Mr. Happy Go Lucky by the interval) and they set about singing and dancing(the typical stuff) to unite Kareena with her boyfriend. In the process Kareena starts to fall in love with Shahid(could that have been more obvious), an hour of cliches later they are happily married and the movie ends with an item song. There, that is my frank opinion on the movie. The only outstanding aspect of the movie is the soundtrack, that exudes Punjabi energy( spoken like a true Punjabi, ehh...?), the rest is all routine and uninspiring.
Watch Jab we Met if you have nothing better to do, but if you decide to devote two and a half hours to it during CTs or end sems you'll be disappointed. I give it 3/5.

first comment to your first non-futta blog. reviewing a review!!! i guess you found the film just like i expect to find it. no hopes, anyways, out of a kareena starer.
reviewing a review, never thought about it that way. Yeah Kareena's movies have been pretty bad of late.
it was a complete disaster for me having seen this movie with the owner of this blog..as i was desperately wanna have a go to watch one of manU clashes...this movie was wat i expected before seeing, just a time pass...it was good but not good enough to stop any manu fan to watch his club daring to fly to the top of the table...
isn'i it "khanna" ?
Bas kar yaar! Har jagah ManU, ManU.
Agreed they'r in top form but why do you have to remind that to a hapless Everton supporter so often.
wat can i do if movie was below par in comparison to soccer match....i have to admit that i was forcefully brougt to multiplex to see the movie....

I heard the movie was a decent timepass, and you've kind of confirmed that. It sounds like a decent investment in Banaras but not in Bangalore where you pay 190 bucks for a ticket. And ya; for the non-soccer fans, please continue being random ;) How about a tribute to the person/thing/event that forced you to shed your locks?
Its nice to see you reading my blog. Definitely not worth 190 bucks. The thing/event that forced me to shed my locks was an air shower/clean room at Moser Baer Photovoltaic's(that's where I did my 2nd year internship) R&D Facility. A tribute to that would be rather boring.
JWM is full of drama & comedy ( different from traditional comedy).
I like one thing about JWM that its dialog are excellent. So according to me u should see it & enjoy ur three hours.
